Quanity

You have a destiny!

God designed you—on purpose—to accomplish something specific on the earth.
Do you believe this? Do you believe that:

  • there is something that God’s reserved for you to do?

  • there’s a place that He’s prepared for you—that only you can fill?

  • you have an arena that you are called to influence for His Kingdom?

Fulfilling your Destiny will help you answer these questions as you discover your life’s purpose.

We will broach this topic primarily from a spiritual perspective—as the battle for your life is won or lost in the spirit before it’s ever played out in the natural.

  • My prayer is that this book ignites something deep and powerful within you.

  • My hope is that as you will discover the treasures God’s hidden within you and come to delight in who He’s made you to be.

  • And… that you will become fully empowered do what He’s called you to do.

Creating Your Life Purpose Statement

This may take you several days, or longer. As you read through the exercise, ask God to show you what He’s put inside your heart. Don’t be in a hurry. Be observant and intentional as you work through this. Consider what you’re drawn to in life, and what impacts you. Invite His Spirit to lead and guide you.

There are 3 parts to finding your purpose statement.

Part 1: What's Most Important?

  1. Answer the below questions to brainstorm about what is most important to you. Don’t try to be spiritual. Just consider what’s in your heart.

    • What do you most value?

    • What is your highest priority?

    • If you could do one thing, what would it be?

  2. Read and mull your answers over. Spend some time thinking about what you most highly value.

  3. Write this most important thing—your priority in life—in one concise sentence.

  1. Answer the below questions:

    1. If you could impart something to others, what would it be?

    2. What do you want to contribute to the world around you?

    3. What would you like to be known for?

Compile your statement

You will write your life purpose by melding these 3 parts together to make a statement that resonates within the core of your being. Use the sentence starters below and plug your answers from parts 1, 2, and 3 into the template:

Write your “highest value” sentence, from Part 1, here:

My purpose is to...

Write your 3-4 most important attributes, from Part 2, here:

Creating a place where _________________, _________________, __________________, and __________________ abound.

Write your “legacy” sentence, from Part 3, here:

Where each person…

As an example, my personal life purpose is:

My purpose is to declare God’s glory in freedom and vulnerability;
creating a place where unity, love, truth, and value abound, where each person comes to the heart of God and celebrates life, abundantly.

Once you have your answers plugged into the template, you have what you need to create your life purpose statement. Ask God to help you articulate what He’s created you to do. As you write it, make it personal. Feel free to smooth it out and make it less formulaic. When you feel like you have a statement that resonates with you, you should feel some excitement and energy in it. It should “live” within you. If it doesn’t, spend some more time with the LORD going over the exercise again. There’s no right or wrong answer. Just follow what He puts in your heart. And, if you feel stuck in any way, I highly encourage you to sleep on it. God speaks to us and ministers to us when we sleep.

I will bless the LORD who has given me counsel; my heart also instructs me in the night seasons.
— Psalm 16:7

Write your completed Life Purpose Statement:

Once you have it, let it grow in you. The specifics of how you fulfill your purpose will likely change throughout your life—as seasons and roles shift—but the essence of it will deepen and grow as you mature in the LORD.
